BRAND STRATEGY

Is your brand looking different on every channel?

It's more common than you think, and it has a real impact on trust. Your website looks one way, your socials another, and your emails look like they came from a third business. Customers notice these things, even when they can't put their finger exactly on why.

Think of Coca-Cola or McDonald's. Every touchpoint is consistent and instantly recognisable. It's no coincidence that they're among the longest serving brands in the world.

Now think about yours. Does your website look like your socials? Do your emails look like they came from the same business? If you hesitated, your customers will too.

The numbers back it up.

Up to 20%

more revenue for brands whose identity lines up on every channel. It comes down to confidence, because when something feels a little off, customers hesitate.

So how does a brand end up like this? Rarely on purpose.

  • Too many hands, no rulebook. The freelancer designs the socials, an agency builds the website, and someone in-house sends the emails. Nobody’s working from the same guidelines, so each one makes their best guess.
  • The brand was never clearly defined. Without a clear position and tone of voice, everyone fills the gaps with their own opinion. One person writes it formal, another writes it casual, and the brand sounds like two different businesses.
  • Channels get added one at a time. The website came first, then Instagram, then LinkedIn, then the newsletter. Each was set up in its own moment, with its own look, and nobody went back to line them up.
  • Assets get passed around until they’re unrecognisable. The logo gets stretched to fit a banner, the colours get eyeballed, and an old version of the template is still floating around someone’s inbox. Each tweak is small, but together they add up to a brand that no longer matches.

The cost of getting it wrong? Hesitation. Every time your brand looks or sounds a little different, you’re asking customers to work you out again, and most won’t bother. That’s trust lost and budget wasted on marketing that doesn’t add up.

And no, you can’t patch it in later. Consistency isn’t a tidy-up job, it’s a clarity job. When you’re confident in who you are and who you’re talking to, every channel has something solid to work from.

Where to next?

The good news is that all of this is fixable, and it starts with strategy. Here’s how we’d help:

STRATEGY

Before anything gets designed, we get clear on the basics. Who are you, who are you talking to, and what do you stand for? We dig into your business, your customers, your industry and your competitors so every decision that follows is based on evidence, not opinion. It’s the step most brands skip, and it’s usually why things drift in the first place.

brand positioning

Where do you sit in the market, and why should someone choose you over the next option? We define your point of difference and turn it into a clear message, so your website, socials and emails all say the same thing in the same voice. Get this right and there’s no guesswork. People know what you do and why it matters from the first look.

VISUAL IDENTITY

This is the look and feel that’s recognisably yours. Logo, colours, typography, imagery and the little details that make someone know it’s you before they’ve read a word. We design it to work everywhere it needs to, from a website header to a social post to an email signature, so it holds up on every channel.

brand TOOLKIT

A great brand falls apart when nobody knows how to use it. We pull everything together into guidelines and ready-to-use assets, so your team, your freelancers and your other agencies can stay on brand without having to ask. No more stretched logos or colours that are nearly right.

ROLLOUT

A brand sitting in a PDF isn’t doing much for you. We bring it to life across your website, socials, email and anywhere else your customers find you, so what they see matches what you’ve promised. Same brand, everywhere. Imagine that.
